The network of colleges and universities working to address the needs of the semiconductor industry in the Midwest is adding to the group. Nine more institutions have joined the network – now including schools from Illinois, in addition to Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.

The Distinguished Scholar Awards are among the highest annual honors awarded at Ohio State.

Steve Oghumu, assistant professor, received the 2022 Early Career Distinguished Scholar Award.

Elissa Washuta, assistant professor of English, received the 2022 Early Career Distinguished Scholar Award.

Asimina Kiourti, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, received The Ohio State University 2022 Early Career Distinguished Scholar Award.

Bhavik Bakshi, Richard M. Morrow Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, has earned The Ohio State University 2022 Distinguished Scholar Award in recognition of decades of research leadership.

Rita Pickler, PhD, RN, FAAN, FloAnn Sours Easton Endowed Professor of Child and Adolescent Health, received the 2022 Distinguished Scholar Award.

Bruce Weinberg, Eric Bryon Fix-Monda Professor in Economics, received the 2022 Distinguished Scholar Award.

John Beacom, Henry L. Cox Professor of physics and astronomy, Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professor and director of the Center for Cosmology and AstroParticle Physics (CCAPP), received the 2022 Distinguished Scholar Award.
