Join 6/12 opportunity briefing on the next NSF Major Research Infrastructure program cycle

In anticipation of the next NSF Major Research Infrastructure (MRI) submission cycle in November, ERIK’s Research Development team will hold an opportunity briefing on Wednesday, June 12, from noon – 1 p.m. for interested faculty. The discussion will also include prior MRI awardees sharing what it takes to be successful as well as important information about the July 1 internal deadline for teams intending to submit.

The MRI program funds up to $4M with three track options, supporting the acquisition or development of a research instrument. Emphasis is placed on increased access to multi-user scientific and engineering instrumentation for research and research (student) training to lead current and future generations, advancing instrumentation capabilities and enhancing expertise for instrument design and fabrication at academic institutions. The MRI Program emphasizes broad representation of groups, institutions, and geographic regions that are underrepresented in STEM disciplines and encourages proposals from women, underrepresented minorities, persons with disabilities, and early career PIs.

Because the number of submissions to the program by an organization are limited, interested Ohio State applicants must submit an internal application by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024. The application, full details and submission instructions are available at the university’s limited submission portal (Ohio State login required).
