Kate supports strategic research development for interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Data Science efforts, conducts capture planning and strategy development and leads proposal preparation activities. She previously served as a research scientist and grants and contracts administrator for the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Global One Health Initiatives Office.  She managed a research laboratory from 1993-2010. She was a senior editor for Bioscience Writers from 2002-2018. Kate earned her BA in microbiology from Miami University and MS and PhD in viral pathogenesis from The Ohio State University. She joined the Research Development Office in May 2017.
